Users of Vet solutions' new PremVet5 software can now take full advantage of its improved finance module which allows a direct link to Sage Line 50, the accounts package used by many veterinary practices.

"Our aim is to develop our veterinary practice management systems to be even more tuned in to the workings of the practice," says Vet solutions' Julian Bryan. "With huge numbers of our clients using Sage Line 50, a direct interface from PremVet5 ensures they get the best of both worlds from their practice management and acccounting systems. 

"From our poll among users we established how they would like the integration to work and on that basis we developed the interface."

Details of work done across fees, drugs and VAT and recorded on PremVet5 can be posted to Sage as frequently as needed. This will typically be at the end of every day or each surgery. "The great benefit is that both management and accounting systems are kept right up to date without any duplication of data entry or complicated transferring of data."

Users familiar with Sage Line 50 will be able to take advantage of the link immediately as it uses the Sage standard nominal coding structure. But where needed, users can configure the nominal codes for the postings in Sage to match their own specific coding structure.
