Congress bags appeal for Kenyan school
Vet Solutions, are appealing for surplus Congress bags
to help school children in Kenya. A new project based in
the heart of the Maasai Mara game reserve has been set
up to improve schooling, and provide medical clinics and
other facilities to the local community.
Liz O’Brien, Vet Solutions director, discovered the
project whilst on holiday in the area last September. “It
is struggling for support as it receives no government
funding and consists of just a few rundown buildings with
a handful of desks, chairs and almost no books. Simple
items such as Congress bags make ideal school satchels
for the children,” said O’Brien.
Liz has just returned from a second visit to the project,
which now hopes to start work on building new school facilities
and taking on a properly trained teacher. Once funds are
in place, Liz hopes to return to help build the new classrooms.
Anyone with a surplus Congress bag – of any vintage,
please bring it to stand E34 at BSAVA Congress, 20 –23
April 2006.
Edinburgh based, Vet Solutions, provide high quality practice
management systems for the Veterinary profession throughout
